A seam-rubber likely made and used by a whaler of the late eighteenth or early nineteenth century.
Of excellent old colour, made using one piece of whalebone with a wedge-shaped working edge polished smooth from work, the mid section swelling to make a comfortable handle and a cube terminal carved as an octahedron.
