On the deck can be seen two hard-at-work crew whilst the commander, Charles Falconer, is at the wheel.
Hope is recorded as being from Goole and unloading stone from there onto the beech at Hastings in 1850.
This painting is in fine condition and within a fiddle-back and bird's eye maple veneered frame of the period.
