Albert Pam was originally from Litomsyl, Bohemia, born around 1798. In 1834 he was appointed as Dentist to his Royal Highness and Princess Victoria when the Royal Family resided at St Leonards or Hastings, perhaps in part due to his German/Austrian background. According to the census of 1841, Albert was by then already running his chemists’ shop from Lewes High Street.
