A fine and attractive perspective view engraving of the City Hall, Amsterdam, done by Georg Balthasar Probst around 1760 and showing us a busy city scene with the fine and wealthy alongside beggars and tradesmen, transporting goods from the docks seen to the right of the building. In excellent condition retaining the original colour and within a good copy of a correct eighteenth century print frame.

The City Hall was built during the seventeenth century as The Koninklijk Paleis before becoming the home of King Louis I in 1806 and eventually the Royal Palace for the House of Orange.
