Charming English School painting of a mare and foal in the company of a playful terrier, set before a parkland estate with a river and a pair of swans.
Probably East Anglian, the frame, apparently original, bears the label of 'W. Freeman, Carver Gilder, London & Pottergate Street, Norwich'.
Painted in oil on canvas, the hollow moulding frame gilded and with shell corners; all circa 1820.
