Plenty Attending the Blessings of Peace. Reverse painted mezzotint laid down onto glass, published by W.B.Walker, Fox & Knot Court, Cow Lane, June 11th 1802, within the original carved, ebonized and parcel gilt frame.

The Treaty of Amiens was signed by Joseph Bonaparte and the Marquess of Cornwallis at the end of March, 1802 with Britain recognising the French Republic. Together with the Treaty of Lunéville, signed in 1801, the Treaty of Amiens marked the end of the Second Coalition, which had waged war against Revolutionary France since 1798.
