Artist: Augusto (Manuel ) de Quesada.

Portrait of a Spanish Gentleman painted oil on canvas and within a period bird's eye maple frame. Signed lower right by the artist, Augusto (Manuel ) de Quesada. (Seville 1824-1891) In 1842 the artist received an award from the Economic Association of Friends of Seville. In 1858 his painting "Nuestra Señora del Carmen" received a bronze award in the Exhibition of the Economic Society of Jerez de la Frontera and "Santa Casilda" received an honourable award. His "San Juan" was awarded a silver medal at Cadiz in 1862 and "Nuestra Señora del Carmen" was exhibited at the National Exhibition in Madrid, 1864. Spanish circa 1860.
