Exceptional Georgian neoclassical candlesticks, similar to a familiar model found in various alloys used at the same time these were made; brass, paktong, prince's metal, bell metal etc., etc. This pair exceptional in scale and detail with a deeply cast and developed gadrooning at the base and with a leaf cover at each corner and well defined capital with separate cast drip pans. The stop-fluted columns cast in two halves with a braize line running top to bottom.
English made circa 1780.
A patch to be seen at the base of each, presumed to be restoration following earlier electrification. A small casting hole (flaw) at the capitol of one.
