A fine and beautiful wrought iron toasting fork the stem with three copper decorations, each worked to a different design, the handle in the form of a fish, neaty decorated with scales, the tail split and worked round to form a love-heart with a creature's head at the centre.
The flat back of the fish is punched with the letters in script 'P.L'.
27.25 inches long.
These forks, always exhibiting the most accomplished of workmanship, are thought perhaps to come from Germany and date to around the turn of the 18th century.
