An excellent example of an early 19th century sailors' seam rubber, the business end with cock beading all round, neatly engraved with the letters Q and L to either side and the gently tapering carved rope shaft with a turks head knot to one end and a monkey fist knot forming a pommel at the other. Probably English, mahogany, and dating from early in the 19th century.
