A pair of Italian, Grand Tour bronze sculptures after the marbles in the garden of the House of the Deer at Herculaneum. As roman sculptures, it is possible that these are representative of Actaeon being attacked by his hounds. Fine, lightweight castings with excellent after-work and a lustrous green/brown patina. Standing on pale Sienna and black marble bases.
