A fine example of a soldier-made tablecloth made from the felted wool of uniforms by a convalescing soldier, probably of the Crimean War.
This work is more usually found as patchwork quilts, sometimes termed 'convalescent' quilts, the work executed by convalescing soldiers associated with any of the many conflicts of the British Empire during the Victorian era.
