Campaign Writing Box, solid mahogany, bound in brass which is fixed with steel screws, all, including the fold-down carrying handles, finished flush with the polished surface. Within, a single screw-lidded inkwell and secure Chubb's New Patent lock. Beneath the flap over the deepest section is a lift-out tray. When this is removed and a steel screw depressed, a cover springs away to reveal three finely executed secret drawers. Beneath the other flap is kept a ledge to retain a book when being read, the half closed lid being adjusted in its rake by the service of an adjustable arm. A name plate to the lid engraved in capitals 'C.H. Farmer'.
