Brass and Iron New York Andirons

A pair of brass and iron andirons with ‘S’ shaped legs standing on forked feet, the uprights multiknopped and the finials facetted.

American, New York, circa 1830.

Many features of these andirons suggest an attribution to Edward Smylie, New York brass founder at the corner of Pike and Henry Streets from 1817.
