A papier mache snuff box lid finely painted at the Stobwasser Manufactory after the original work by Sir Thomas Lawrence; inscribed to the reverse in red script 'George IV'.

Within an ebonized fruitwood miniature portrait frame of the period with a gilded bezel and engine turned sight. This frame would appear to be original to the portrait implying that this work was bought specifically for the portrait rather than a snuffbox; a testimony to the high regard held for the output of the Stobwasser Manufactory at the beginning of the 19th century.
