An interesting account of Mr. Edwards is to be found on the website of the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation where it is recorded that the signature of W.H. Edwards is often trimmed and cut into the signature “W.H Edwards Delt" [delineavit]. The outer edge of the paper on which this work is painted indeed bears the signature as described. William Henry Camden Edwards worked from No 15 Southampton Row, Russell Sqr London.

He exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1793 and 1841, and the Society of British Artists between 1840 and 1841. He engraved plates for W.J.Hooker's publications between 1812 and 1820.
