A fine example of a reverse painted mezzotint laid down onto glass, published within a few weeks of the Battle of Trafalgar by W.B Walker, Fox & Knot Court London.
The caption beneath recording the legend as 'Admiral Ld. Nelson mortally wounded by a Musket Ball, in the ever memorable Victory off Trafalgar on 21 Oct. 19 Sail of the enemy struck their Colours. 1 blew up in the Action, 13 run away & 4 of them were afterwards captured by Sir Richard Strachan off Ferrol, 1st Novr 1805'.
Within the original carved and parcel gilt 'Hogarth' frame.
