A fine pair of square-based brass candlesticks with a raised ring to the base; a considerate detail to catch the running wax preventing it from reaching the table top. A smart, plain candlestick, the only fanciness in the shoulder design, more usually found on a petal-based candlestick of this period.
English circa 1760. These candlesticks with separate loose bobeches; the stems made in two parts and braised top to bottom.
