17th Century Tobacco Box

An English tobacco box dating from the end of the 17th century, the brass frame set with ivory, the panel to the base plain but with exceptional colour, whereas that to the lid is decorated with a brass pinned pique design similar to the work found on cane handles of this period and considered to be from the Huguenot workshops of London.
