H.M.S Bulldog

Artist: J.Cleet

Oil on canvas signed J.Cleet and dated 1890, within a period maple veneered frame. "Bulldog" was the nameship of the First Class wooden paddle sloops.

She was built at Chatham dockyard and launched October 1845. Of 1124 tons, she measured 190 feet in length with a 36 foot beam and was powered by a Rennie 500 nhp engine.
